太陽光が地球の大気を通るとき、青や紫などの波長の短い光は散乱されやすく、赤や橙など波長の長い光は深く透過していきます。波長の短い光を散乱しやすい液体を使って夕焼けを再現しています。光の波長と散乱の関係を学ぶことができます。 When sunlight travels through our atmosphere, the blue and violet colors that make up part of that light are easily scattered by the air, leaving the red and orange colors shining strongly. This is especially apparent when the sun shines through a thick section of the atmosphere?as it does when it is low in the sky as it sets. This exhibit uses a liquid that also scatters blue and violet light to show how the colors of a sunset are formed.
